Preparing Your Audio Master
It's very important that your master disc sounds exactly like you want it to, with all tracks in the correct order with the timing you would like. You should always include a backup copy just in case. ALWAYS keep a copy of your final master for yourself, we do not return the discs you send us.
Master Specifications
Your master should be mixed down to stereo and prepared in the order that it needs to be. Your master disc should sound exactly how you want the final product to sound like. Please double check your track order and spacings before submitting them to us. If tracks should flow together please make a note so that we can check for this.
All masters are given a quick visual inspection for scratches, dirt, and fingerprints. We will use the disc in best condition for your project, this is why it is important to send two copies. We do not provide any post production for masters. If this is something you are interested let us know.
Although the discs we burn are 80 minutes long it is recommended that you keep the length down to 78 minutes.
We accept audio in the following formats.
- CDr Audio Discs (recommended)
- ISO Disc Images
- WAV Audio Files
- MP3 Audio Files
- WMA Audio Files
Proper Handling
Handling your master properly is very important! Never touch the bottom surface of a disc, always hold it by the edges. Never set a disc face down onto a surface. Make sure that your master and case is properly labeled.
Master discs should NOT be kept in slimline jewel cases or regular jewel cases. A DVD case, Tyvek sleeve, or soft plastic clamshell case are the best. Jewel cases can crack and the discs rotate in them. This can cause circular scratches that will destroy a disc. Check out the main image on this page for an example of circular scratches. |
